Maryland's Minimum Wage Gets Another Bump Up July 1st

June 1, 2016

July 1st will see another gradual increase in the state's minimum wage to $8.75 an hour.

This is the third wage increase since then-governor Martin O'Malley signed into law the gradual wage increase in May of 2014. The first two increases which took place January 1, 2015 and July 1, 2015 raised the rate to $8 an hour and $8.25 an hour, respectively.

Next summer's increase will raise the rate to $9.25 an hour and the final increase, set to incur on July 1, 2018 will see the minimum wage surpass the $10 mark at $10.10 an hour.
